    Thomas William Hiddleston (Tom Hiddleston) was born in Westminster (London) from his mother Diana Patricia, a former theater manager and a stage manager, and his father, James Norman Hiddleston, a physical director of a pharmaceutical company.
    His father comes from the town of Greenock (Scotland), while his mother is from Suffolk (England)

    Tom has two sisters: Sarah (journalist) and Emma (actress)

    His studies began in the Dragon School in Oxford and then continue with the prestigious Eton College and Pembroke College, Cambridge : he graduated in Classics. Subsequently he completed his studies as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where he graduated in 2005.

    He also began acting for British television, appearing in an ITV adaptation of the novel Nicholas Nickleby and in the movies: Conspiracy (2001) and The Gathering Storm (2002) in which he plays Randolph Churchill.

    Upon graduation from the RADA, Hiddleston got his first film role playing the character of Oakley in Joanna Hogg's first film, Unrelated (2007). After he gets again the leading role in the second film of the same director, Archipelago (2010).

    He works for the theater company “Cheek by Jowl” starring in The Changeling and Cymbeline. At the Donmar Warehouse company he interprets the role of Cassio in Michael Grandage production of Shakespeare's Othello, alongside colleagues Chiwetel Ejiofor and Ewan McGregor, with whom receives critical acclaim.

    Then Tom plays the role of Lvov in the West End version of the play Ivanov.

    Between 2006 and 2010 he took part in British television productions including Suburban Shootout and Wallander opposite Kenneth Branagh (with whom he had shared the stage at the theatrical staging of 'Ivanov).
    Cranford and the TV movie Miss Austen Regrets.

    And it is Branagh to propose to his name to producers for the film Thor, and it is Bragnagh to propose Hiddleston for the movie, in which he is the director. Hiddleston is auditioning for the lead role of Thor, but finally gets to Loki (brother and antagonist of the God of Thunder).

    To prepare for the many fight scenes, Hiddleston is trained in the martial art Brazilian capoeira.

    In 2011 he played the novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.
    He is also Captain Nicholls in the drama War Horse, directed by Steven Spielberg and then the RAF pilot Freddie Page in The Deep Blue Sea, starring Rachel Weisz.

    Tom resumed the role of the villain Loki in the blockbuster movie The Avengers and then in the sequel of Thor-The Dark World; Shooting begins in August 2012.

    In July 2012 he played Prince Hal, later Henry V, in the BBC television miniseries signed The Hollow Crown (adaptation of the works of Shakespeare Henry IV, Part I, Henry IV, Part II and Henry V).

    His is also the role of the musician / vampire Adam in the new work of Jim Jarmusch film, Only lovers left alive, alongside Tilda Swinton and Mia Wasikowska.

    In October 2012 Joanna Hogg recruits him again to let him take on the role of the protagonist of his new movie (The London Project)

    Hiddleston has also starred in drama radio programs (such as Cyrano de Bergerac and Othello, both broadcast by BBC Radio).
    He is also the narrator of The red necklace audiobook; a reader for the application iF Poems iTunes and voiceovers for documentaries at the British Museum and the BBC.

    Among the awards he has received: Laurence Olivier Award for best actor for his performance in emerging Cymbeline and the Jameson Empire Award for best emerging actor of 2011.
